Anthony O'Neal Gellington was born in Texarkana, Texas on July 23, 1957, to Ruther B. Gellington and Charlie Gellington. He attended public Schools in Texarkana, Texas. Anthony committed his life to the Lord at an early age when he united with the Greater New Hope Baptist Church, formerly named New Hope Baptist Church. Anthony was a veteran serving with the ARNGUS, Company C 3rd Battalion (Mechanized) Infantry, Texarkana, Texas from August 1, 1977, until September 16, 1982, when he received an Honorable Discharge. Anthony relocated to Oakland, CA where he became a worker as a truck driver and became an ASE Certified Mechanic. When he was not driving trucks, he spent his time off using his mechanical skills to repair cars for people who could not afford to take their vehicle to traditional Repair Shops. He referred to this as his calling and duty to help people. Anthony made his transition from time to eternity on November 30, 2025. He is preceded in death by both parents, a beloved grandmother, three sisters, Nettie Jamison, Cheryl Black, Gloria Morris and one brother, Charlie Wayne Gellington. Also mourning his passing are his brothers Lee Gellington (Wanda) Northport, AL; Willie Gellington , Texarkana, TX, Darrold Gellington, Dallas, TX Jamilla Jackson (daughter), - Grandchildren; Kelly Watts, Jakell Watts, Isaac Milasap, Trevontae Mangram, Amariana Brown, Demario Brown; of Sacramento, CA. Ebonie Gellington (daughter) – Grandchildren; Emon Gellington, Kenji Williams, Wendell Robinson, Jr. of Baton Rouge LA. Sharetta Gellington- (Daughter) -Grandchildren Jah'Layah Haynes, Kolby Haynes, Zayden Taylor, Khaza Taylor of Houston, TX. A host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, neighbors and all that knew and loved him.
