David Allen Reed was born July 16, 1966 in Greenville, Texas to the Reverend John L. and Virginia Jackson Reed. He attended elementary school in Sulphur Springs, Texas. He accepted Christ at an early age. He completed public school, graduating from Liberty-Eylau in Texarkana, Texas class of 1985.  David graduated from Texas College in Tyler, Texas with a bachelors of science degree in 1994.

He married Pamela Johnson on November 4,1995. David is the father of three sons Jeffrey, Isaiah and Jaylan. He loved to fish, cook, meet new people, shoot the breeze and laugh. He never met a stranger. David was a jack of all trades. He served as a carpenter, mechanic, plumber and all together repairman for anyone in need. He was rich with a hole in his pocket because he would share whatever he had with everyone. He loved life and people.

He was preceded in death by his great grandmothers, Millie Williams, Dyras Reed and Gracie McKinley; grandparents, Willie and Hattie Stevenson, John and Fannie Mae Jackson, Leroy “Buster” Wright, Hilbert “Brother” Reed; Siblings, Veronica Reed Traylor 7/29/24 and Jonathan Laray Reed 12/22/24, several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
David leaves to cherish his memory: his parents, John and Virginia Reed; grandmother, Margie Wright; his wife, Pam, his sons Jeffrey, Isaiah and Jaylan Reed; siblings, Virginia Lyn, Schnina and Daniel Reed; great aunts, Nellie Summerfield and Annie Pickrom; nieces and nephews, Kari and Kasi Traylor, Michael and Lacie Reed, Jas’Monique Madison and Gabrianna Gatewood.
