Joe Allen Willis, Jr. was born on September 15, 1949 to Dessie Willis and Joe Allen Willis Sr. in Ida, Louisiana. On Friday- October 10, 2025, at the age of 76, God called Joe from labor to reward as he transitioned peacefully in his sleep at his home in Wake Village, Texas.
Joe worked as a Lineman for American Electric Power Company for 13 years. After his tenure with AEP, He worked at Pro Paint Auto Body in detail and paint preparation for 5 years. Joe also worked as a Custodian and Floor Technician for Four States Nursing Home for 10 years.
He will be remembered as a man who loved his children, grandchildren and family. His work ethic was unparalleled, often working long hours to ensure the comfort and security of his family. Joe loved to have family gatherings and his house was often the hang out for family.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents: Dessie and Joe Allen Willis Sr., His wife: Joann Caldwell Willis, his long-time partner: Linda Landon, His brothers: Booker T. Willis, Will Willis, and Arthur Willis, His Sisters: Johnnie Mae Willis and Bobbie Brownlee. Those left to cherish his memory: Sons: Christopher (Yelonda) Willis (Wake Village, Texas) Ricky Sr. (Sonya) Willis (Texarkana, Arkansas) Derrick Carson (Qutina) (Texarkana, Arkansas) Antwon Willis (Texarkana, Texas) Daughters: Sharon D. Willis (Wake Village, Texas) LaTonya B. Hickman (Jerome) (Texarkana, Arkansas) LaRita N. Joseph (Omar) (Texarkana, Texas) Nekebra Nicole Burnett (Texarkana, Texas) Sisters: Mattie McCoy ( Texarkana, Texas) Patricia Byrd (Texarkana, Arkansas) Barbara Willis (Texarkana, Texas) Maple (Antonio) Beal ( Dallas, Texas) 23 Grandchildren, 39 Great-Grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews and a number of other relatives and friends.

Daddy, Pop, Papa Joe....its me, WHEW! I LOVE ME SOME YOU!! Thank you for loving me and treating me like a daughter instead of a daughter in law. You showed me true love. You've been a a part of me for 20 plus years! How do I press on without you? I got Chris, I promise to love, cherish and take care of him for as long as the Lord Allows!! Christopher Willis, WELL DONE!!!!! Thank you PaPa Joe!! Lord Jesus we miss you here at the house. You taught us everything but how to live without you!!!
