Kenneth Vernell Barber, passed away peacefully on August 27th, 2024 at his home in Texarkana, AR. Born on January 4th, 1970 in Lewisville, AR to the late Wade Barber and Ida B. Henry; Kenneth was a beloved father, son, grandson, brother, cousin & friend to many. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories. A graduate of the Lewisville Arkansas Class of 1988, Kenneth enlisted in the United States Army immediately following high school. He completed his army basic combat training at the Fort Sill Oklahoma army base and was later stationed in Germany and then Hawaii. Following the conclusion of his military career, Kenneth obtained employment with Tyson Foods in Hope, Arkansas and Caraustar in Texarkana, Texas before relocating to Shreveport, Louisiana in 2015. While in Shreveport, he attended the Culinary Institute of America where he obtained his Culinary Arts degree and worked in that field for several years before returning to Texarkana.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents Wade Barber and Ida B. Henry, his grandparents: John and Clara Henry, his nephew: Alford Henderson III (Poodie), his fiancee: Paula Flournoy, and his cousins Leon Davis Jr. & Kirsten Charnell Herron.
Kenneth is survived by his daughters, Kentrimya and Kenecia Barber whom he loved and adored with all of his heart. Siblings: Anita (Alford) Henderson of Texarkana, TX, Ricky (Rosetta) Henry of Texarkana, TX, Eric Mask of Texarkana, TX and Camisha Mask of Frisco, TX. He also leaves to cherish his memory a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Words cannot adequately express the heartbreak & sorrow that I feel since you departed. You were truly one of a kind and I am so thankful that God me a big brother like you. I will love you & miss you always!

Rest in paradise my brother. K.B. was my Army brother, and my friend. We met in Shreveport back in 2015 and I will never forget our friendship. Condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones. You will never be forgotten my brother. I love you!

I served with Kenneth in Hawaii and we had a lot of good times together. Sad to find out that he passed away. We reconnected a few years ago and laughed about the good times we had. Rest in peace my brother.
