Maxine D. Piggee was born on February 10, 1931 in Schaal, Arkansas to the late Sanford (Sam) and Edith Owens.  She was raised in Schall/Toillette, lived in Graves Chapel, Stamps, and finally made her home in Texarkana, AR for the past 40 years.

Mrs. Piggee was the youngest of three children; brother Stricklin Owens and sister Beneather Graves.  Her family also included a stepbrother George Clardy, and stepsister Patsy Gant.  She attended Howard County Training School and graduated in 1949.

On March 23, 1951, Mrs. Piggee married the love of her life, Roland H. Piggee, a WWII veteran, lifelong educator, and school principal. They were married for 47 years, until Mr. Piggee's death.  To this beloved union, they were blessed with a daughter, Rozalyn, and three sons, Edgar, Aundre, and Carlos.

Mrs. Piggee had a distinguished career at Lone Star Ammunition Plant in Hooks, TX.  Her final position was Quality Control Inspection Supervisor and retired with over 30 years of service.  She was a pillar of every community in which she lived, dedicating her time to the Church.  She taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and was a notable Silhouette of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.  After retiring, she enjoyed long walks, cooking, and caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in her journey to heaven by her loving husband, Roland; her parents; her sister, Beneather Graves; her oldest grandson, Theandrew Jerrod Clayborn; and her stepsister, Patsy Gant.

Mrs. Piggee leaves to cherish her memory; her children, Rozalyn Clayborn, Edgar Piggee (Gwen), Lt Gen (R) Aundre Piggee (Kassi), Carlos Piggee (Maida), and a bonus son, Reverend Terry White. Five grandchildren, Alexis McMillan (Mario), Carlos “Rico” Piggee (Erika), Jessica Hamilton (Derrick), Evon Gray (Jotham), and Arianna Piggee; eight great-grandchildren, Kadence and Keegan Hamilton, Ava and Gianna Piggee, Jordyn, Jrue, and Joshua Gray, and Greer McMillan; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and many cherished friends.

Our deepest condolences to Rosalyn, Edgar, Aundre’ and Carlos. Your mother was a beautiful woman inside and out. Such a beautiful smile with warm greetings every time I saw her. Our conversations about days gone past in Stamps brought back fond memories of my brother Titian, me and Carlos from attendance at Ms Thomas kindergarten through Stamps schools. Your parents were such a pillar in the community. Well revered as deserved. You guys are very blessed. Stay strong and lean on the Lord during this time of grief.

The love of a Mother is one that is unique and eternal. She may be gone from this world, her warmth, strength, and kindness live on in every memory and every heart she touched. Wishing you peace, comfort and lasting memories.
