Kat, so sorry for the loss of your Mom. She made the best German Chocolate Cake. Your Mother will be missed; may you be comforted by your many memories of her and with her. RIP Bug.

Dear Kat, I want to express my deepest sorrow and sympathy. Aunt Olevia was like a 2nd Mother. I loved spending the night and when she did my hair for my dance recitals. She held a special place in my heart.

Auntie, Rest in paradise and Rejoice with our heavenly ancestors.

In Spirit and Love,
Tricia

To Katherine, Versie Lee, Hather and "entire" Legardye/Williams family: I was thinking of you during visitation hours today. You have our heartfelt sympathy and prayers. She and Joe and Charles and I married about a month apart by the same minister in Bloomburg, TX. After that, over the years we exchanged Christmas cards. When they moved back home to Kiblah, I continued the cards. Family, take comfort in knowing your "great" LOSS became her GAIN! Now, she has left this earthly realm and gone to her Heavenly home, where she rests from her labor. "The Lord bless you and keep you...and give you peace."- Numbers 6:24-26 Charles & Willene Sumpter, Mt. Morris, MI (via Kiblah

As a little girl, I remember the beautiful smile on Cousin Olevia's face. Specifically, when she came down South to visit from Michigan during holidays, etc. Being from Houston, TX., I was fortunate to be there several times and experience her "down-to-earth, loving nature towards me.
After retirement, she and her husband settled into a nice sparkling white house with black shutters in Doddridge. I remember it, like it was yesterday. Whether it was a holiday or summer visits, they always cheerfully welcomed her uncle, (My dad, Edward Lee) and me into their home for good 'catching up' talk and lots of laughter.
Today, we've all evolved into sending digital greetings, but I will fondly remember receiving her gorgeous custom printed Christmas cards each and every year from The LeGardye's. Her penmanship was impeccable. In short, I will cherish those cards, many of which I still have to this day. A huge smile takes over my face when I take them out and re-read them. I will also cherish the conversations, we shared on her cell phone in recent years before she became debilitated. Sometimes she would say, "I just wanted to talk and picked up the phone and your name begins with an A". So, fortunately for me, many times I got the first call. I thoroughly enjoyed each of our short, but meaningful chats via cell phone. In closing, Cousin Olevia "Bug" LeGardye: I will forever cherish knowing you. You were a blessing in my life and I will never forget you. . Love ❤️Always, Alice Williams
