Ozie was a great grandfather to my children and we have so many great memories . He will truly be missed by many. He loved and lived life unapologetically his way. Continued prayers and love for the family.

I can't even imagine our family without you; we are going to miss you most of all. Uncle Arthur was the last biological child of Jack & Mary Dafney (we do still have adopted siblings Lessie & Jean). Words cannot express the tremendous loss we all are feeling right now and probably for a long time. He called me a couple weeks before his passing; I think that was his way of saying goodbye to me. We always had those real conversations about life. My heart is shattered, however, I know you are with your siblings resting in the presence of the Lord. Love you Unc!

Words cannot express the way that I feel about not ever seeing your smile or hearing your voice again. You saved me when I was 3 years old. I turned over in the pool, and you jumped right in to get me. And you’ve been watching over me and my mother ever since. Just 4 months ago, you made sure your sister was laid to rest well. And you kept checking on me to make sure that I was okay. I certainly didn’t think you would have to go too. I understand. But I can’t even express what an enormous loss it is for me to lose you and my mother within 4 1/2 months.

I thank God that He blessed us with you! You were always cool, calm, and collected. You would always greet us with a smile! I don’t know if I ever saw you angry. Oh yeah, me and Stefanie were playing in the car. And it shifted into gear. The car started backing out of the driveway. Of course, I think I was in the driver’s seat. Here you come running out to get us. You were a little mad that day! Even then, the punishment must not have been too bad because I don’t remember it. I just remember a face of worry and panic. I will forever remember and miss you. Thank you for showing me so much love, patience, and kindness over the years!

Our grandparents had 13 amazing children and adopted the twins. They raised all of you to be close. Wow, we are so blessed to have had all of you as parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc. All of you were always there! You traveled for visits, parties, weddings, graduations, home going’s, family reunions, and whatever other occasions that you could find to have a reason to travel. That doesn’t mean that they were perfect- no one is perfect. But even with their imperfections, they were the best! From Aunt Susie to my mother, we got a perfect mixture of calm, bossy, quiet, kind, generous, stubborn, and I just don’t care. But one thing is for sure. Everything that they did was always accompanied with a smile. Those smiles we will never forget! And at the end of the day, they gave us their very best. As much as, it is so hard to know that our days together has come to an end. We have a lifetime of memories. And I try to have peace knowing that all 13 of you are together with your parents to rest with God! Rest well
