He received Christ at an early age and joined Evangelist Temple COGIC under the late Pastor Sarah Deadner on South Lake Drive where he served on the deacon board. He loved to sing in the church and his favorite song was "How Much Do I Owe Him". He also was adopted by a loving family at the age of 16 and the remained a loving family. He married Tina Johnson and became a step-father to her children and grandchildren.
Robert loved music, especially the blues; playing dominoes, fishing, western movies. He loved wearing his good old-fashioned cowboy attire, blue jeans, cowboy hat, and button-up shirt. He loved working with his hands and as long as he had a hammer and nails, he was always building something. He loved gardening and doing yardwork. He was out-going and loved his family.
