Born to the union of Clifton and Mary Sims she was the seventh child of sixteen children from this union. Early on she gave her life to Christ at St. James Baptist Church, Texarkana, Arkansas.
In 1975, she united with Lonoke Baptist Church. She served in many roles at Lonoke. She was a deaconess, a primary school teacher, recreation leader, and a Mass Choir member. She was a dedicated graduate of the class of 1967 from Booker T. Washington High School. She received a nursing certificate from Texarkana College and was a licensed Texas Cosmetologist Operator where she designed her own salon in her home.

For more than 40 years she was a loyal and dedicated assembly line worker with Lone Star Ammunition Plant. Rosie’s passion was leading and supporting guidance to her peers, she became a Union Steward and financial secretary for International Chemical Union Local 526C.
If you knew Rosie, she gave her “All” as an elected official of the union and she stood her ground when it came to negotiating on issues of concerns on behalf of the union members in the workplace. Rosie retired from Day & Zimmermann as a Radiographer level II for 44 years.
