Tracy French was born April 15, 1965, to the late Edward B. French and Cleo French in Los
Angeles, California. He was later adopted by Fletcher Harris, Sr. and the late Bobbie J. French Harris.
He departed his earthly life on Thursday, January 22, 2026.
Tracy grew up in Wilton, Arkansas, and attended Ashdown High School, where he was a proud
member of the Panther’s baseball team. He graduated with the Class of 1983. He enlisted in the
U.S. Army in 1984, serving for 15 years. During his military career, he was stationed at several
locations, including Fort Campbell (Kentucky), Fort Jackson (South Carolina), Fort Polk
(Louisiana), Fort Sill (Oklahoma), Wiesbaden (Germany), and Fort Hood (Texas). Tracy settled
in Killeen, Texas after his Army discharge in 1999. He maintained a distinguished career as a
government employee, undertaking multiple deployments to Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, Saudi
Arabia, and Korea. He concluded his dedicated service in this capacity upon his retirement in
2023.
Tracy married his high school sweetheart, Audrey L. French; together, they have two children.
Tracy has frequently affirmed that Davis Chapel A.M.E. Church is, and will always remain, his
home church.
He maintained a lifelong dedication to Shotokan Karate, holding a 2nd dan black belt.
He was an esteemed member of the Japan Karate Association (JKA). During his time in Europe, he
instructed students of various ages, demonstrating commitment and enthusiasm in his teaching.
Tracy will always be remembered for his exceptional kindness, compassion, warmth, and
eagerness to assist those around him. He cherished living in the moment and truly made the best of each day.
With a golden heart and a joyful spirit, he was a remarkable person whose presence uplifted everyone.
Tracy was preceded in death by his biological father Edward B. French, his mother
Bobbie J. French Harris, brother Nathaniel Neal, and sisters Mary Richards and Joyce French.
He leaves to cherish his memories:
