Wonda Joyce Hurt, affectionately known as Wonda-Joyce, Aunt Wondaline (Ain’t-Maline), and Momma Wonda, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 14, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born in Martin, Texas, to the late William and Marion Walker, Wonda dedicated her life to Christ at a young age and was a lifelong member of the Baptist faith. She built a distinguished 30-year career in telecommunications, rising from Southwestern Bell in Dallas to roles at AT&T, Lucent Technologies, and Atlanta Gas Light, where she retired as a Software Engineer.
Wonda will be remembered for her strength, generosity, and infectious joy. She welcomed everyone into her home, loved music, dancing, knitting, traveling, and especially treasured her family. She shared a loving marriage with her husband, Otis Hurt, whom she wed in 2002.
She leaves behind a legacy of faith, resilience, and love that touched countless lives. Her smile, laughter, and unwavering spirit will be dearly missed.
