On September 23, 2026, the Lord spoke: “Patricia, you fought a good fight, you have kept the faith. The battle is fought and the victory is won; come now and take your rest.” Patricia was born to Louis C. Garner, Sr. and Betty Jo Garner, who nurtured her with love, strength, and faith. She graduated from Liberty-Eylau High School, Class of 1980, and continued her education at Texarkana Community College, earning her degree in 1987. For more than 40 years, Patricia served the Dallas community as a dedicated nurse. Her compassion, skill, and unwavering commitment touched countless lives. She was also a devoted member of Life in Christ Family Church, faithfully serving as the Head of the Healthcare Committee. Her faith guided her steps, and she carried God’s love into every space she entered. Patricia cherished her family above all else. She loved traveling the world, enjoyed taking cruises, and proudly served as the historian for the I4 Family Reunion Committee. She was her children’s and grandchildren’s greatest supporter—celebrating their accomplishments, nurturing their dreams, and reminding them always that family comes first. To her family, Patricia was more than a mother, grandmother, sister, and friend—she was the “GLUE” that held everyone together. She created memories, preserved traditions, and ensured that no one ever felt forgotten or alone. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents and her grandmother, Lois Broadus. Patricia leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion carried on by her three children: Shereika Chatman (Noland) of Ramstein, Germany; Christina Chatman (Darren) King of Dallas, TX; Terrance Chatman (Brianna) of Dallas, TX. She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings: Shirley Flint (Joe) of Texarkana, TX; Consoyna Gentry (Rodney) of Texarkana, TX; Louis Garner, Jr. (Vicky) of Texarkana, TX. Her beautiful legacy continues through her eight grandchildren, who will forever carry her love, wisdom, laughter, and memories: Latrey Lucas of Dallas, TX; Alyssa Mitchell of Kansas; Taneah Jones of Kansas; London Chatman of Forney, TX; Sonai King of Forney, TX; Maliah Chatman of Rowlett, TX; Dream Chatman of Mesquite, TX; True King of Forney, TX; and her honorary son, Christopher Harris of Dallas, TX. Patricia’s life was a testament to faith, family, and service. Her love will continue to bind her family together, and her memory will forever be cherished by all who knew her.
