Ida Ruth was born on  January 15, 1954 in Texarkana, TX  to Mother, Ruth L Hunter and Father, Lewis Thomas Pearson.  
Ida known as “Patsy Joe”, was the 3rd of  eleven siblings which Included Leo Holmes, Walter Holmes, Quincy Hunter, twins Willie Adams and Willie James, Barbara Ann Conkelton, Lawanda Riley, Arlandis Hunter, Markley Hunter and Randy Hunter

Ida attended Dunbar Highschool until age 17, She then married Melvin Nelson and they became the proud parents to 9 children.  Ida was always very outspoken with a no-nonsense personality. Known as the life of the party,  she loved to sing and dance and she could party with the best of them.  She loved living life and making those around her happy!
After High School Ida remained in Texarkana for a large majority of her adult life.  She worked as Certified Nurses Assistant (CNA) for many years before transitioning over to a Teachers Aide for TAISD.  Ida was a member of Mt Zionide Baptist Church.

Mother:  Ruth L Holmes & Father: Lewis T Pearson
Brother:  Quincy Hunter, Willie Adams, Willie James and Walter Holmes  Sister:  Barbara Ann Conkelton
Children:  Lahenry Nelson Willie Adams Nelson, Willie James Nelson, Tyrone Hunter Sr. and Annette Nelson

Survived in death by:  
Children:  Patty Dailey, Vandy Nelson, Henryellia Nelson- Arreaga,  LaQuincea Nelson and Andy Nelson,
17 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and a host of family and friends

The news of your death hurt me so much I didn't want to believe it but I just want you to know that you're sister loves you so very much and I'm going to miss you talking with me on the phone every time we talk we talk about when I stayed in Tanglewood we had a lot of good times back then just know that I'm going to miss that until we meet again tell momma and your sister and the rest of the family I said hello

Mom you can rest now you fought a good fight I love you always you have being a good mother in law and a friend to me from the 1st time I met you you was really a sweet person and I will never forget you may God bless the family and comfort you all in your need I love you all from Mississippi to Texarkana .

Condolences to Ida Ruth family she was always a loving and friendly person would give you the shirt off her back we go way back to the days in smith keys the good old days when love trust respect friendship and family meant a lot you could help each other out if you needed help they didn’t go around talking about you we need love back in our hearts again for each other

Auntie you know your favorite name you called everyone okay. So you know how it went, but I'm gonna miss you. But I keep you near my heart at all times because man I have over thousands of memories I hold of you. Don't worry your sister will be just fine I promise we got her. Love you auntie.

Condolences to the family. I remember Ida Ruth from our Dunbar days.
She always entertained us with her sense of humor. So sorry to hear of her passing.
