Life’s Reflections
Julia Fay Henry Jackson was born December 28, 1948 to the late Charlie and Lula Lee Powell Henry in Lewisville, Arkansas. She was raised by her grandparents, Harrison and Fannie Stature Henry. She departed this earthly life on March 6, 2023 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Conway, Arkansas.
Julia confessed Christ at an early age at the Galilee Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Nelson Young. She remained a faithful member at Galilee where she worked throughout the years at Galilee as Church Clerk, Sunday School Teacher, and Church Custodian.
After graduating from Foster High School in 1967, Julia attended AM&N (now known as UAPB) College in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
Julia was a hardworking and industrious woman who held various jobs to make sure that her family was provided for. She retired from SWADC after working many years as an in-home healthcare aide.
Julia always had a radiant smile and an affectionate hug for everyone she met. She was family oriented and believed in knowing and telling the family history and in keeping the family reunion tradition going. She could hold extended conversations about the family history and what you did not know when she started talking, you would be fully educated when she finished
Julia married the late Elder James Jackson on March 17, 1979. With her caring ways and desire to help anyone in need, she was perfectly suited to the role of minister’s wife. She would always show up with a helping hand and an encouraging word anywhere in the community where she could offer assistance. She believed in studying God’s word, quoting God’s word and living by God’s word.
Julia was preceded in death by five brothers, Jobie J. Adams, Brisco L. Henry, Bobby W. Gill, Edwin Gill and George H. Henry; one sister, Rosie M. Henry and granddaughter, Ehlana D. Jackson.
Julia leaves to cherish her memory, her children: Kenneth Foster of Pittsburgh, PA, Shonda L. Henry of Conway, AR, Kimberly R. Henry of Lewisville, AR and Marcus (Patti) Jackson of Hubert, N. Carolina; Stepchildren: Charles E. Jackson, Lamorris “Marty” Jackson, Durwood “DoeDoe” Jackson, David (Aletha) Jackson and Edwina Felicia (Max) Jackson; Brothers: Charles E. (Kyong Su) Henry, Charles H. Gill, Charles K. Henry, Larry Joe Rawls, and Charley (Shawanna) Henry, Jr; Sisters: Louise Avery ,Sharon (Freddie) Harris, Robbie Henry, and special granddaughter: LaToi-ya Camareno of Kansas City, MO. She will also be missed by many cousins, friends, and other extended family.
